美國每年有超過4800萬人罹患食源性疾病,再加上美國有大量移民人口,對美國境外食品具有高度需求,如何確保輸美食品符合食安法要求,國外食品供應商管理尤為重要之課題。食品安全現代化法及食品藥物管理局相關配套立法,建立國外供應商驗證計畫及自願性合格進口商計畫,強化國外食品供應商管理,除可用以檢視臺灣制度適宜性,臺灣食品業者亦需掌握及遵守相關規範,以符合輸美要求並因應美國食品藥物管理局之查廠。

英文摘要

More than 48 million American people get foodborne illnesses every year. Also, lots of immigrants in the U.S. have a high demand for foreign food. How to ensure the imported foods comply with U.S. food law, especially foreign food suppliers’ management, becomes an important issue. Food Safety Modernization Act and related FDA regulations establish the foreign supplier verification program and the voluntary qualified importer program and strength foreign food suppliers’ management. These new measures can help us to review our food safety management system. Meanwhile, Taiwanese food businesses shall understand and comply with these regulations to meet the US requirements of imported food and deal with the inspection of the FDA.
