Dr. Mei-Hui Liu (¼B¬ü¼z)

Dr. Mei-Hui Liu is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Education at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), where she also serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Director of the Office of Bilingual Education, and Associate Director of the Resource Center for EMI (RCEMI). She earned her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Minnesota. Her research and teaching focus on multicultural education, citizenship education, curriculum development, international education, and bilingual education. Over the course of her career, Dr. Liu has held several key leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Education, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of the Center for General Education at NTNU. Committed to advancing equity and innovation in higher education, she has played an influential role in shaping teacher education, fostering bilingual and international initiatives, and promoting intercultural understanding in Taiwan¡¦s academic landscape.

Dr. Yeu-Ting Liu (¼B¦t®¼)

Dr. Yeu-Ting Liu is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of English at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and currently serves as Vice President of the School of Teacher Education. He previously held the positions of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Associate Director of NTNU¡¦s Resource Center for EMI (RCEMI). His research centers on the cognitive aspects of computer-assisted language learning, second-language vocabulary processing and acquisition, second-language reading processes, and second-language phonological acquisition. At NTNU, Dr. Liu has contributed significantly to advancing EMI and international education initiatives, leveraging his expertise in applied linguistics and language learning research to strengthen faculty development and enhance the quality of bilingual instruction.

Dr. Yachu Sonya Fan (­S¶®µ®)

Dr. Yachu Sonya Fan specializes in bilingual education, curriculum and instruction, and English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI). As the Associate Director of NTNU¡¦s Resource Center for EMI (RCEMI), she has positioned NTNU as a national innovator in EMI support by developing influential resources such as the bilingual annotated lesson plan template, classroom observation guidelines, deliberation criteria, and the ESAP (English for Specific and Academic Purposes) Syllabus Guidelines, which were disseminated nationwide. She spearheaded RCEMI¡¦s professional development training program, pioneered off-site training models, and forged international collaborations with UT Austin and Columbia University, while supporting more than 30 nationwide classroom observations and deliberations that promoted reflective teaching and raised EMI quality across Taiwan. Her work integrates academic English with discipline-specific pedagogy, enabling faculty to implement EMI effectively and preparing diverse learners to thrive in multilingual educational settings.
