The Way of Toxicity: The Down-to-Earth Food Safety Attitude
臺灣近年來發生幾起重大食安事件,使各界高度關注食品安全問題,目前食品安全管制雖已逐漸完善,但民眾仍未能安心。由於政府向來未重視食品毒理學「劑量」之風險溝通,而伴隨食品科技發展,各種新型食品陸續問世,其對生態環境與人體健康之影響更未臻明確。本文以為,盡速建構風險溝通制度,推廣食品安全教育,培養民眾建立正確食品安全觀,乃當前政府之要務。
Several major food safety events raised highly concerns in food products in Taiwan during the past few years. Currently, the regulatory infrastructure of food safety is almost comprehensively constructed, but people still highly worry about the adverse effects of food. Probably, it is related to the lack of adequate risk communication strategies, which need more focus on the fundamental“dosage” concept by our regulatory agency. With the development of food science and technology, numerous novel food products have been generated, but their impacts on the ecosystem and human health are still unclear. In order to abolish the gap between food safety and health impact, our government needs to facilitate the development of a risk communication system, deliver comprehensive food safety knowledge, and establish the optimal food safety concept in Taiwan society.
