Safety Management of Chinese Medicine Food
The purpose of food safety is to promote the use based on safety requirements, and addresses to solve the needs of the food industry at the same time; the Chinese medicine food are those that animals and plant materials are used according to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, and to be included in the food usage category, whose basis is from the idea that “medicine and food are homologous.” The safety of Chinese medicine food is which through the Chinese medical knowledge collection to solve the problem of material sources. Besides, it helps the government to lay down new regulations, and to alleviate the consumer’s anxiety caused by increased awareness of Chinese medicine food safety. The purpose of safety management of Chinese medicine food is to guide the management personnel involved in the food industry to ensure the consistency of Chinese medicine foods in food safety, while meeting the requirements of consumers and regulatory agencies. Briefly, the food safety management must still have an “awareness of food safety” and control well with the “hazard analysis and critical point control management system (HACCP)” as well as the project of risk-controlling, when taking Chinese medicine material as food.
