文章發表:2016/1/5

This week, we are going to look at a common error with ‘lack’ to avoid in your writing.

These errors are very common in Taiwan.

Task 1: Study the error box.
Wrong
Right

 I have lack of money.

 I lack of money.

 I am in lack of money.

 I have a lack of money.

 I lack money. / I don’t have any money.

Notes:

* ‘Lack’ can be a verb and a noun. Take care.

* Actually, ‘lack’ is a very low frequency verb. It’s more natural English to use ‘don’t have’ instead of ‘lack’.

* Use ‘lack s/th’ (v) or ‘have a lack of s/th’ (n)

* Never use ‘lack of’ (v). It’s wrong! Never use in lack of. It’s wrong!
