Personal Data and Privacy on Telehealth: HIPP’s Experience
在COVID-19疫情大流行期間，遠距醫療大幅擴張。然而其引發的個人資料保護與隱私風險也得重視。本文簡要介紹美國聯邦主管醫療資料安全的聯邦健康保險流通與責任法，以及其對於遠距醫療的適用情形。同時，也從市面上常見的「HIPAA驗證」出發，討論此種驗證對於遠距醫療服務之影響。
Telehealth has been boosted during the COVID-19 pandemic era. But concerns about data protection and privacy issues regarding to telehealth had also grown. This article briefly introduces the main regulation on medical data protection in the US, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and its implantation on telehealth. Also, this article analysis the functions and impacts on telehealth of so-cold “HIPAA certification”.
